To set or change a password in Windows 11, follow these steps:
Setting a New Password:
Press Windows + I on your keyboard to open the Settings app, or click on the “Start” button and then click the gear-shaped Settings icon to open it.
In the Settings window, click on “Accounts.”
In the left sidebar, select “Sign-in options.”
Under the “Password” section, click on “Add” under “Create a password.”
Enter the password you want to set for your account in the “New password” field. Windows will ask you to confirm the password by typing it again in the “Confirm password” field.
Optionally, you can add a password hint to help you remember your password if you forget it. It’s recommended not to use sensitive information as your hint.
Click “Next” to save your new password.

Changing an Existing Password:
If you already have a password set and want to change it, follow these steps:

Under the “Password” section, click on “Change” under “Change your account password.”
You’ll need to enter your current password to verify your identity.
After verifying your current password, enter your new password in the “New password” field, and confirm it in the “Confirm password” field.
Optionally, add a new password hint.
Click “Next” to change your password.
You will be asked to sign out and sign back in with your new password. Click “Finish” and follow the instructions to sign out and back in.
Your password has now been successfully changed in Windows 11. Make sure to remember your new password, or keep it in a secure place. If you forget your password, you may need to use password recovery options or contact your administrator to regain access to your account.
